THE BRIEF
To deliver a new food and entertainment space, including balcony mezzanine extension, before the busy summer trade without compromising on quality.
We were approached by C&R to refurbish an existing unit within 17&Central Shopping Centre, the works also incorporated a balcony mezzanine extension. Our overall brief was to create a new vibrant food hall and entertainment space before the busy summer trading period.
OUR APPROACH
A successful collaborative approach
We approached this fast track project as we do with all our retail projects with collaborative planning to reduce waste, lean construction processes and a clear understanding of our clients expectations for the project.
We worked closely with our supply chain partners to develop a lean, efficient and realistic programme, whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the live shopping centre. In line with the programme we developed a comprehensive phasing plan which was agreed with the Centre Manager at pre-start stage to aid communications and reduce any project risks that may affect the programme. Night and day shifts were also incorporated into the programme to enhance the programme.
THE OUTCOMES
A vibrant new food and entertainmentÂ
This new vibrant space now offers local food vendors, a mini golf course, two events spaces and a number of art installations.
Our proactive approach resulted in best value without compromising on quality, safety or performance.
